Our Story
Empowering people living with cancer across Ireland
Look Good Feel Better was launched in Ireland in 2003 as a programme managed by the Irish Cancer Society and in 2013 became a registered charity in it’s own right.
A community of care & support
The charity is run by a voluntary Board and 2 part-time staff members and is totally dependent on a tribe of over 175 volunteers who deliver workshops in hospitals all over Ireland.
Our service to date has provided support to nearly 12,000 patients with the support of over 20 leading companies and brands from the Beauty and Fragrance Industry as well as many other organisations that recognise the benefits of our service.

Our mission and vision is built around care, confidence and dignity
Finding out you have cancer can be daunting and life-changing and the added stress of the appearance-related side effects of treatment can be demoralising and very hard to cope with. This can have serious consequences on self-esteem and confidence at a time when a positive attitude is very important.
Vision
That the Look Good Feel Better programme be an integral part of cancer care in Ireland supporting people with cancer. To date, we have supported over 12,000 people during their cancer treatment.
Mission
To help improve the well-being and confidence of people undergoing treatment for any type of cancer. We do this by providing free Look Good Feel Better workshops and advice, to help manage the visible side-effects caused by cancer and its treatment.
Our Voluntary Board of Directors
We are a small charity with big ambitions, this demands a lot from our voluntary Board of Directors who work tirelessly to ensure that the governance and strategic direction of the organisation stay on course. We are very grateful for the hard work and expertise they donate that make it possible for us to reach over 1,000 women every year.

Look Good Feel Better is the only worldwide cancer support charity. Each year over 130,000 women, men and teenagers receive support with the help of over 20,400 volunteers and more than 600 organisations.
